concerning youth

Thanks to the generous cooperation of the Lifespan Religious Education conference (the other group on Star Island this week) we can welcome meditators with children/youth.

The LRE conference runs a top-notch youth program that is mostly compatible with our schedule.  So, while our adults are meeting to meditate, our young people can be engaged in their own meaningful activities.

In the morning, there is age-specific programming -- pre-school, elementary, jr. high and high school groups.  During the afternoons, parents are responsible for supervising their own families.  Then at night, there are sitters (island staff) on duty.

LRE is run primarily by Unitarian Universalists, a non-creedal group with no agenda to "convert" anybody, and accustomed to welcoming people from all backgrouds. Non-UU's would of course have questions about UU-style youth programming.  But be assured that the setting is very conducive to interfaith mixing.  Please feel free to start a dialog with us, so we can convey a full picture to you.

The viability of bringing children will depend somewhat on their age and maturity.

Please contact us if you might want to bring children/youth to Meditation Week.
